Black-eye Galaxy (M64; NGC 4826)

A popular name for a spiral galaxy in the constellation Coma Berenices. The galaxy is characterized by very smooth spiral arms and a prominent dust cloud surrounding the nucleus that gives rise to the name. It is about 65,000 light years in diameter.
